And that is the main reason why theHunter games are successful. COTW and Classic on the other hand went animals first and guns second. There are more species per map, tons of animals in general but from what I've seen they are far from realistic and their AI and animations are really basic. And after weapons they have added animals to shoot. Even iron sights weren't aligned with the center of the screen so you can't actually aim with it properly. But the shooting itself seems pretty unsatisfying. Models look great, they have real brands so they had to get those right. You can clearly tell what was their priority, guns. But I will almost certainly go back to COTW after not too long and then play Classic more if anything as I want to hunt with dogs and shoot birds.įrom all the content I've seen, and that's quite a bit, it's not even close to COTW or Classic. TL:DR, I will probably get it as it will be new and fresh. But unless it is far better on Launch compared to the Early access versions it just won't compete.Īnd then there's the issue with the devs, love them or hate them at least the EW devs work on their games after launch. Which is a shame, it has many good aspects. It will get lots of players at first, but I don't think it will have the long term pull of either of the Hunter games. I mean really the only three things it has that are not on COTW that I want are: Dogs, certain huntable species and more species per map. It barely looks nicer than classic, and the things it has that we have been asking for on COTW are on classic already. In fact apart from having more species per map and it having the COTW business model (which I prefer) I don't think it's going to be better than the Hunter Classic. It does not look like it will be better than COTW.

From everything that I have seen of it from streams.
